Sierra-at-Tahoe adds weekend and holiday parking reservations

For its 80th season, Sierra-at-Tahoe is adding a parking reservation system on weekends and holiday periods. Reservations are free for passholders and for cars with four or more people, and $25 for cars with three or fewer.

• The resort also plans a mobile app, set to launch in November, with a trail map, leaderboards and badges.
• It says it completed its post-Caldor Fire reforestation project, with more than 60,000 saplings planted, 40,000 of them this summer.
• The resort expects to open when it has enough snow, typically late November to early December.
