New residential vacation rental permits go to a waitlist

Starting Aug 21, 2026, the City is placing new vacation home rental permit applications in residential zones on a waitlist, as issued permits approach the 900-permit cap set by the ordinance that took effect April 23, 2026.
- The Tourist Core and commercial zones are not affected by the cap or the waitlist.
- The City says there is no estimate for when waitlisted applications will be reviewed.
